Come, Follow Me

The new youth curriculum for 2013 is called Come, Follow Me. Click on the link to go to the Church's introduction page for the new curriculum. You will notice that there is no manual for the lessons, but instead all of the materials are online so that they can be updated more reqularly. One of the reasons I started posting resources on here was so that teachers and students could find more up to date material on the topics covered in the now defunct Presidents of the Church and Preparing for Exaltation Manuals. I will leave these resources on the blog as they may come in handy when some topics are covered in Come, Follow Me. The first thing I wanted to know when I saw the new curriculum was how could I know that I wouldn't duplicate exactly what was being taught in Aaronic Priesthood and Young Women lessons. The answer is simple: although the overall topics are the same for Aaronic Priesthood, Young Women and Sunday school, there are different sub-headings to consider in each of the different lessons. To make it easy to see at-a-glance exactly what may be covered in the different lessons I have created an overview of the different topics and sub-headings for each quorum and auxiliary each month. This may be useful to parents as well as youth teachers and leaders so that they can follow up on their youth's gospel learning outside of Church classes and plan ways to build on and develop their learning in the home. In many cases, opportunities for youth to develop what they are learning will be necessary in order to complete their Duty to God and Personal Progress goals. See the document here.
